As a former film student and patron of the Revue, I am delighted to report that this neighbourhood cinema will once again re-open late this summer. I attended the opening press conference on Tuesday June 12th, 2007 in front of the Revue and was greeted by the hardworking members and friends of the Revue Film Society, who committed their time, energy and dedication to restoring this gem in Roncesvalles Village. I also met Dan Mullin, the generous Ward 14 resident who bought this property with his wife Letty.
The Revue Film Society, a not-for-profit group, is asking for volunteers and/or donations to keep this cinema up and running. I encourage all of you to check out their website at www.revuecinema.ca to find out ways to contibute to this wonderful project.
I look forward to working with the group and with the community to ensure that the Revue continues to be a success. See you at the movies!
